SPARK: Power Tomorrow

Louisville, KY, July 5, 2022 - Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) is excited to host its annual event, SPARK: Power Tomorrow, in Louisville, Kentucky this year. The conference will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center from October 5-8. The premier event of the year for the electrical and systems contracting industry, the conference will host over 2,000 attendees and exhibitors.

Louisville is hometown to current IEC President, Troy Corrigan, who is President and Owner of Corrigan Electric, in Louisville. Corrigan was elected president for the 2022 term and is delighted to hosting the conference on his own “home turf.”

“I am so excited that we can bring IEC’s annual SPARK event here to my hometown of Louisville, KY.,” said Troy Corrigan. “This year we have changed up the event to shorten it without losing any major components. As valuable as everyone’s time is, we felt it was time for a change and to try something slightly different. We can’t wait to help our industry showcase the latest and greatest at the Expo plus learn and network with the best in the electrical industry. There is no better place to showcase what SPARK has to offer than here in Kentucky, the bourbon capital of the world. Our chapter, IEC of Kentucky & Southern Indiana, is ready to showcase why we are so passionate about our industry including the experience our city has to offer: Bourbon, horses, Louisville Slugger, Muhammad Ali, and more. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in October!”

This year, the program will be headlined by keynote speaker Bill Samuels Jr., President & CEO of Makers Mark Distillery, who will deliver his presentation, “How to reinvent yourself and business to adjust to current trends to become an industry leader.” His reflections on this iconic brand will share with attendees how he brought innovation to this most family-oriented of companies and how they can likewise learn to adapt and pivot their own businesses.

IEC’s SPARK: Power Tomorrow is designed to inspire and help drive attendee’s business’ forward. The event is anchored by an educational program that will highlight the latest in business, industry, and management trends. The program will include such topics as electrical codes and safety practices, strategies for attracting and retaining talent, and proven techniques to drive sales volume and customer satisfaction.

Complementing the learning experience, in the exhibition hall, dozens of leading providers and suppliers will showcase the latest products, services, and technological innovation. The exhibition will also host fun and competitive activities, including the always exciting Contractor Olympics and Apprentice-of-the-Year event.

IEC’s SPARK: Power Tomorrow provides exceptional opportunities to meet peers, potential partners, and friends new and old through four days of fun and unique networking opportunities. Receptions, golf and evening activities, and optional guest tours are all part of the fun on tap in Louisville, including the many tourist attractions, such as Churchill Downs and the Muhammad Ali Center. Additionally, many events will benefit the important work of the IEC Foundation.
