Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with IEC 2023

Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) Celebrates

National Apprenticeship Week

Arlington, VA, November 16, 2023 – The Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) proudly joins the nationwide celebration of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), taking place November 13-19, 2023. Annually, NAW highlights the significance of Registered Apprenticeship programs across the United States and underscores their vital role in addressing workforce challenges. IEC chapters nationwide are actively participating in the 9th Annual National Apprenticeship Week, acknowledging the achievements of electrical apprentices enrolled in the IEC Apprenticeship Program.

The IEC Apprenticeship Program stands out as a comprehensive and supportive initiative that extends beyond the week-long celebration. IEC apprentices not only earn competitive wages while working on dynamic projects with contracting companies, but they also benefit from on-the-job learning and classroom instruction provided by IEC. With 52 chapters across the United States, IEC training centers are state-of-the-art facilities, offering a hands-on and interactive learning experience, allowing apprentices to flourish in their chosen trade.

IEC is committed to recognizing excellence, and the top graduates from its apprenticeship programs nationwide have the opportunity to compete in the Apprentice of the Year (AOY) Competition at SPARK. This annual event showcases the skills and expertise of training electricians, providing a platform for national recognition and representation of their respective IEC chapters.

IEC electrical contractors play a pivotal role in nurturing their apprentices and providing the necessary tools for success. The organization upholds the merit shop philosophy, offering growth and advancement opportunities to individuals who demonstrate dedication and skill. A career with an IEC contractor is seen as the embodiment of the American Dream.
