IEC Joins Coalition Letter in Support of Fair and Open Competition Act IEC recently joined 18 other organizations in a letter to Congress urging support for the 'Fair and Open Competition Act', legislation that would prevent federal agencies and recipients of federal assistance from requiring or encouraging project labor agreement as a condition of winning a federal or federally assisted, taxpayer-funded construction contract. If passed, the bill would overturn President Biden’s E.O. 14063, which requires PLAs on federal construction projects of $35 million or more funded by the bipartisan Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act of 2021. IEC awaits release on proposed rules related to the executive order. |
