Support the Advancement of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) with IEC
IEC is now seeking recommendations for dedicated and knowledgeable industry professionals who are interested in contributing to the revisions of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), also known as American National Standard C2.
As volunteers, these individuals will be expected to participate in meetings as assigned by the chair of the committee within the year of the revision cycle. If you are interested in this meaningful volunteer leadership opportunity, have questions, or if you know of someone with this expertise, please email David Hittinger, Director of Codes and Standards.
OSHA National Safety Stand-Down
May 2-6, 2022 is the official Safety Stand-Down To Prevent Falls in Construction. A Safety Stand-Down is a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. Any workplace can hold a stand-down by taking a break to focus on "Fall Hazards" and reinforcing the importance of "Fall Prevention". Get details about hosting a Stand-Down event, access helpful resources, and learn more about Safety Stand Downs here.
As a reminder, anyone who wants to prevent hazards in the workplace can participate in the Stand-Down. Companies can conduct a Safety Stand-Down by taking a break to have a toolbox talk or another safety activity such as conducting safety equipment inspections, developing rescue plans, or discussing job-specific hazards. Check out some Highlights from the Past Stand-Downs.

May Is National Electrical Safety Month
In celebration of National Electrical Safety Month, the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) is excited to announce the launch of their campaign materials and theme, “Energy Resilience.” This year’s materials examine how emerging technology, including photovoltaics, electric vehicles, and energy storage systems, can provide energy resilience to homes and businesses.
ESFI has provided a collection of resources and safety tips you can use to promote electrical safety and National Electrical Safety Month in your chapters, community, and workplace to help further spread awareness.
