THIS WEEK IS NAOSH WEEK, MAKE YOUR EMPLOYEES AWARE OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY

The Facts:
In the U.S. alone 5,840 workers die from on-the-job-injuries each year.  Help lower this rate and the number of workplace injuries by making sure that your company has a safety recognition program.

What is NAOSH?
May 4-10 is North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH). A week set aside to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace and to encourage companies to increase safety and lower the risk of on-the-job fatalities and injuries in America each year. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration, along with the more than 70 companies and associations supporting NAOSH, encourage you to take action in making your workplace safer.

COALITION FOR A DEMOCRATIC WORKPLACE LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD

WASHINGTON, DC -- 04/25/08 -- The Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (CDW), a business coalition of 500 associations and organizations, today launched a new public awareness campaign aimed at educating voters about the proposed, mis-named Employee Free Choice Act which would strips a worker's right to a secret ballot.

As part of its multi-faceted campaign, CDW released a new television ad featuring a widely recognized character designed to engage and connect voters to the issue. The ad began airing on national cable news channels on Friday, April 25.

IEC, a leader in the coalition’s efforts to educate voters on protecting private ballots, encourages members to take an active role in fighting against this legislation.
