Two IEC Graduates Earn Distinguished IEC Journeyman Credential

Josh Schmidt of Queen City Electric and Erich Hunter of Biz Com Electric have earned the impressive credential of IEC Journeymen. By obtaining an IEC Journeyman Credential, they have demonstrated their superior abilities and knowledge of electrical theory and practices.

“Josh Schmidt and Erich Hunter have shown that they are highly-skilled and extremely talented electricians,” stated Paul Dolenc, IEC National Vice President of Training & Education. “It is quite a feat to successfully pass the written and practical portions of the IEC Journeyman Credential Exam. They have validated their commitment to excellence in their craft.”

The IEC National Journeyman Credential Exam covers the key concepts and practical skills across the Four-Year IEC Electrical Apprenticeship program. These two exams occur over a two (2) day period. All candidates must have graduated from an IEC training program in 2012 or later, or are currently in the second semester of their fourth-year to apply.

The examination was held at the IEC of Greater Cincinnati chapter office. Queen City Electric and Biz Com Electric are members of IEC of Greater Cincinnati. To showcase their accomplishment and expertise, Schmidt and Hunter each received an 11x14” IEC Journeyman Certificate and wallet card.

All IEC members can send their most talented employees to sit for the exam at an upcoming location (must meet eligibility requirements). This credential recognizes the top tier of electricians and is a great resource for employers to identify their most skillful and well-rounded workers.
