Senate Committee Approves Assist. Sec for Employment & Training Nominee

On November 29, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions favorably reported the nomination of John P. Pallasch to be Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training at the Department of Labor (DOL). This position oversees all aspects of apprenticeship at DOL and has been vacant since Trump took office. Prior to his nomination, Pallasch was serving as the executive director of the Office of Employment and Training for the state of Kentucky. The next step is for the full Senate to approve his nomination; however, Senate Democrats have been holding up the nomination process for most of President Trump’s appointments.
