IEC Urges Repeal of ‘Ambush’ Election Rules

IEC submitted comments to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in response to its request for information on the 'Ambush' election rules, which went into effect in 2015. IEC argued that the rules unfairly limit an employer’s opportunity to educate its workforce on being represented by a union. It also leaves disputes regarding voter eligibility until after an election and raises privacy concerns by requiring employers to provide contact information of their employees without their consent.

The NLRB listed issuing new rules on the election process in the administration’s 2018 Spring Regulatory Agenda. The full IEC comment letter can be viewed by clicking here.
