IEC Responds to DOL’s Request for Information on Overtime
IEC submitted comments to the Department of Labor (DOL) in late September in response to its request for information (RFI) regarding a possible new overtime rule. According to the DOL, “The RFI is an opportunity for the public to provide information that will aid the Department in formulating a proposal to revise these regulations.”
In 2016, the Obama administration drastically increased the minimum salary to qualify as an exempt employee from $455 per week (or $23,660 per year) to $913 per week ($47,476 annually). This proposal has since been struck down in court. You can read IEC’s comments by clicking here.
