“It is truly an honor to be elected to the distinguished ESFI Board of Directors and I am proud to represent IEC in this position,” Long commented. “I look forward to working with others in the electrical community to ensure safe practices by workers and consumers.”

Since joining IEC in 2011, safety has been a top priority for Long. In that short time, IEC has launched new safety initiatives and strengthened existing programs. Recently, IEC partnered with IEC National Platinum Partner Eaton to emphasize the dangers of counterfeit products; created resources to train members on OSHA’s new HazCom training requirements; and released new safety tools for members as a part of Electrical Safety Month in May.

“ESFI is pleased to welcome Thayer Long to its Board of Directors, where he will join an esteemed group of senior representatives from across the electrical industry,” said ESFI President Brett Brenner.  “IEC has developed many state-of-the-art safety resources under Thayer’s leadership, and his expertise and passion for the cause will greatly benefit ESFI.”
