IEC Joins Amicus on Employer Email Case

IEC joined eight other organizations in an amicus brief for a case before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) known as Caesars Entertainment Corporation, which concerns employee use of employer-owned email systems. In 2014, the NLRB ruled in Purple Communications, Inc. that employees must be permitted to use employers’ email systems for union organizing purposes. In Caesars Entertainment Corporation, the Board is soliciting feedback as to whether it should adhere to, modify, or overrule Purple Communications. The brief requests that the board over turn this ruling and not permit employer email be used for union activities.
