Patrick Merkel is the director of Education at IEC, where he uses his 10 years of association management and educational programming experience to lead and expand IEC’s professional development activities for members. Since joining IEC in 2019, Patrick has enhanced educational offerings for IEC’s annual events, including the IEC Convention & Expo and IEC Business Summit. Patrick is a Colorado native who attended Bethany College in Kansas, moving to the Washington, D.C. area in 2005.

In his free time, Patrick can be found at home with his wife and two daughters reading, being outdoors, or playing in the local symphony orchestra.
