InPwr, Inc.: Venyu BTR2 Data Center

InPwr_14.JPGInPwr, Inc. was recognized for its work on the Venyu BTR2 Electrical Project. On this project, InPwr, Inc. provided full turn-key design build electrical installation including design, permitting, construction labor, and procurement of major electrical equipment built to the customer’s final basis of design requirements.

The electrical scope of work included 15,000 man hours, 16,000 linear feet of conduit, 75,000 linear feet of feeder and equipment grounding conductors, and nearly 4,000 feeder and grounding conductor terminations in addition to support systems for LED lighting, generator, UPS, and energy metering system controls were supplied.

Innovative design and construction concepts positively impacted the construction schedule deadline as well as the project’s cost effectiveness. These design and construction concepts included using pre-fabricated electrical underground conduit and riser assemblies; ultra-efficient Powersmith transformers; overhead feeder bus duct installed below a Gordon Grid ceiling; 100 percent LED lighting throughout the new facility with automatic controls and much more.

inpwr_post.jpgThe most profound constructability impacts of this project were due to multiple unforeseen, ongoing conditions involving unknown or inaccurately as-built abandoned water, sewer, electrical utilities, and extraordinary conditions involving 12-24 inches of existing asphalt over 12” concrete encompassing the entire equipment yard and new building addition. This impacted new water, sewer, and electrical utilities, which ultimately impacted the construction of new footer wall construction.

The most positive elements of this project were the innovative and forward thinking approach of the InPwr field construction team. Many challenges were mitigated or resolved by progressive strategies and a relentless dedication to the pursuit of excellence by all InPwr staff to deliver this project on time, on budget, and exceeding the customer’s expectations.
